Softball: Jefferson City tops Battles 7-0

COLUMBIA - Alex Gilliland hit three doubles and drove in three runs Tuesday to lead the Jefferson City Lady Jays to a 7-0 win against Battle.

Katy Tambke went 2-for-5 with a run scored, Ashton Glass was 2-of-3 with two runs scored, and Megan Newton was 2-of-4 with a run scored and one RBI.

Alyssa Schulte got the complete-game win, allowing four hits and a walk and striking out seven.

On Monday, the Lady Jays won 13-1 at Van-Far.

Gilliland hit two home runs and drove in four run. Tambke was 3-for-4 with three runs scored, while Taylor Dey was 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Mychael Jett got the win, pitching five innings of three-hit ball. She allowed one earned run and had two strikeouts.

Jefferson City (9-6) plays at 5:30 p.m. Friday against Francis Howell in the Kewpie Classic in Columbia.
