Area accidents leave 3 injured

Two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 50 at Pam Jones Road in Moniteau County.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol report, a 1999 Mazda 626, driven eastbound by Caleb T. Sewell, 23, Tipton, failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the left side of the road and overturned.

Sewell was taken to University Hospital in Columbia and a passenger, Amber L. Spencer-Kiral, 19, Tuscumbia, was taken to Capital Region Medical Center.

It is not known if Sewell was wearing a seat belt. Spencer-Kiral was not wearing a seat belt.

• A Fulton woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday on Route F at Windy Meadows Lane in Callaway County.

The patrol reported a 2006 Hyundai Accent, driven westbound by Nikki J. Fox, 26, Fulton, was stopped to make a left turn and was struck in the rear by a 2001 Ford Taurus, driven westbound by Coty R. Pickering, 18, Fulton.

Fox was taken to Callaway Community Hospital.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
