COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Helias Lady Crusaders finished 2-0-1 in the Rock Bridge Bruin Invitational on Wednesday.
Helias opened with a 3-1 victory against Park Hill. Megan Oliver won her singles match for the Lady Crusaders (4-0, 4-2), while Emmi Theroff fell (3-5, 5-3, 7-10 tiebreaker). In doubles, the team of Abby Dowden and Liz Conley won (4-1, 4-0) as did the team of Grace Verslues and Anna Theroff (4-0, 4-1).
Helias then split four matches with Rock Bridge. Winning for Helias was Ashley Dowden in singles (5-4, 4-1) and the doubles team of Emmi Theroff and Conley (4-1, 4-2). Losing were Catherine Conley in singles (0-4, 2-4) and the doubles team of Oliver and Verslues (2-4, 1-4).
Helias then defeated Ladue 3-1. Winning in singles was Ashley Dowden (4-0, 4-0). Doubles wins came from Abby Dowden and Oliver (4-2, 4-0) and Verslues and Emmi Theroff (4-0, 4-0). Falling in singles was Liz Conley (4-2, 0-4, 3-10 tiebreaker).
