Blair Oaks remains No. 4 in football rankings

The Blair Oaks Falcons remain the highest-ranked team in the area in the latest Missouri media football rankings released this morning.

Blair Oaks (2-0) remains No. 4 in Class 3 after defeating Owensville 48-19 last Friday at the Falcon Athletic Complex.

The Jefferson City Jays (1-1) fell one spot to No. 6 in Class 6 after losing 49-19 to top-ranked C.B.C. last Friday in St. Louis.

Two area squads fell out of the top 10 in their respective classes after losses last Friday - Helias (0-2) in Class 4 and South Callaway (1-1) in Class 2. South Callaway received five points in the rankings by 15 media members from around the state.

Southern Boone (2-0) received votes for the first time this season, getting four points in Class 3.

The top-ranked team remained the same in five of the six classes - C.B.C. in Class 6, Fort Osage in Class 5, Webb City in Class 4, Lamar in Class 2 and Valle Catholic in Class 1. In Class 3, John Burroughs moved from No. 2 to No 1, swapping spots with Oak Grove.
