3 dead in Camden County crash

Two Macks Creek children and a Tunas man were killed in a two-vehicle accident at 5:12 p.m. Monday on U.S. 64 east of Ball Park Road in Camden County.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1993 Chevrolet S-10, driven eastbound by Robert J. Kroll, 35, of Tunas, crossed the center line into the path of a 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche, driven westbound by Dennis D. Lewsader, 58, Camdenton, striking the Kroll vehicle head on.

Kroll and a passenger in the Kroll vehicle, Miley Howard, 7, of Macks Creek, was pronounced dead at the scene by Camden County Medical Examiner Stephanie Dominique. Another passenger in the Kroll vehicle, Hailey M. Loyd, 5, of Macks Creek, was pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

Lewsader was taken to Lake Regional Hospital.

Everyone except Kroll was wearing a seat belt.

• A Camdenton man was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 7:36 p.m. Monday on Route D north of Tunnel Dam Road in Camden County.

The patrol reported a 2013 Chevrolet 2500, driven southbound by Milton R. Webster, traveled off the left side of the road, vaulted over a drive and overturned.

Webster was taken to Lake Regional Hospital.

He was not wearing a seat belt.

Webster was later arrested for DWI and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in an accident.
