GRAIN VALLEY - The Fatima Lady Comets finished second Saturday in the Grain Valley Spikefest.
Fatima went 2-0-1 in pool play - splitting with Cole Camp (25-27, 26-24) and defeating Grandview (25-14, 25-15) and Smithville (25-11, 25-21).
In bracket play, Fatima defeated Savannah (25-17, 17-25, 25-17) and St. Pius X: Kansas City (25-20, 21-25, 25-19) before falling to Pleasant Hill (15-25, 8-25) in the title match.
Emily Keilholz had 55 assists in the tournament for Fatima, while teammate Courtney Wolfe totaled 51. Kaitlin Peters totaled 45 digs, while Kenadi Huhn finished with 33 kills. Megan Werdehausen had 14 blocks and Makayla Grothoff had eight aces.
Fatima (17-10-4) will play today at Fulton.
