239 boys sign up for Cub Scouts in area

Recruiting efforts during School Night to Join Scouting events in the five counties of the Boy Scouts of America's Five Rivers District drew 239 new Cub Scouts into the program.

The district consists of Cole, Osage, Moniteau, Maries and Gasconade counties.

The district set a goal of recruiting 250 new scouts and reached 96 percent of their target. That is an increase of 59 percent from 2014 recruiting efforts.
