CAMDENTON, Mo. - Athira Nambiar and Erica Dunn were winners of the district tennis doubles championship, defeating teammates Susan Meyer and Bailey Patrick in the title match on Saturday.
Nambiar and Dunn defeated Meyer and Patrick 6-1, 6-0 for the championship.
Nabiar and Dunn opened up with a 6-0, 6-0 over Rolla. They continued with a 6-1, 6-1 over Lebanon in the semifinals.
Meyer and Patrick opened with a 6-0, 7-5 win over Rolla. In the semifinals, they defeated second-seeded Camdenton to advance to the finals.
In singles action, Esther Ruboneka took fourth place in districts. She beat Waynesville 6-3, 6-3 in the opening round before falling to Lebanon in the semifinals 6-1, 6-1. Ruboneka lost in the third place match 8-2 to Lebanon. Quintera Lewis fell in the opening round of singles.
Nambiar, Dunn, Meyer and Patrick will compete in individual sectionals Tuesaday in Camdenton.
The team will compete in team sectionals Oct. 10 in Springfield.
