A Jefferson City man is facing multiple charges in connection with a sexual assault.
Kevin Struempf, 31, is charged with first-degree child molestation and two counts of first-degree statutory sodomy.
A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement shows the victim is a 3-year-old girl.
A relative of the victim took the girl to University Hospital in Columbia, where medical personnel said the girl had suffered bruising which was consistent with sexual assault injuries.
During a forensic interview with the victim, she was able to tell authorities that Struempf had touched her in the vaginal area and had also done other sexual acts with her.
