COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - A 20-year-old man has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in a January shooting death in Columbia.
Stone Midgyett entered the plea Monday in the death of 19-year-old Deante Smith of Columbia. Smith died Jan. 4 of a gunshot wound to the back of the head.
The Columbia Daily Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1PLTpmW) that Midgyett was sentenced to four years in prison.
A co-defendant, Devin D. Jackson, pleaded guilty earlier to unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon. He was sentenced to four and five years, respectively, in prison. He also will have to serve the remainder of a 12-year sentence for burglary
