Solid waste collection and disposal services will be discussed at a public information meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Jefferson City council chambers, 320 E. McCarty St.
The city received two proposals in May, from Republic Services and Waste Corporation of America.
A staff evaluation committee recommended Republic Services as the exclusive provider of solid waste services to the city council at the Nov. 9 work session. That report, initial proposals and presentations is available on the city's web page.
No changes in solid waste collection and disposal services within the city will be effective until approved by the mayor and city council.
The current contract for solid waste collection and disposal within the city is with Republic Services and expires May 31, 2016.
