Scouts honor distinguished citizen

Robert Robuck received the first Distinguished Citizen Award from Great Rivers Council Boy Scouts of America. This award recognizes noteworthy and extraordinary leadership of citizens in communities across the United States.

Robuck received a degree in accounting from the business school at the University of Missouri in 1964. While at Mizzou, he met Sally Bybee and they married. They have two children and six grandchildren. They have been members of the First Christian Church of Jefferson City for 46 years.

Robuck began employment with Central Bank as an auditor in 1968 and joined the Accounting Department after spending four years with Peat, Marwick Mitchell in Kansas City. He has served as assistant treasurer, controller, vice president and controller, senior vice president and controller, executive vice president and director, and president of Central Trust Bank.

He received the Junior Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Service Award in 1972. He served as president of the Central Missouri Chapter of the Missouri Society of CPAs; chairman of Capital Region Medical Center, chairman of Christian Church Foundation and Christian Church Pension Fund; treasurer of the Jefferson City Area Chamber and on the boards of the American Red Cross, Pathways, YMCA, United Way of Central Missouri, Hawthorn Foundation, Missouri State Banking Board, University of Missouri Jefferson Club Trustees, Jefferson City noon Lions Club and other organizations. Robuck was recognized with the Missourian Award in 2004, and in 2005, he was elected president of the Great Rivers Council Boy Scouts of America and served for two years. He received the Silver Beaver Award for his service.

In 2007, Bob was recognized with the William W. Quigg Leadership Award from the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce.
