Jefferson City is back in the bridal business, as its only bridal shop, Ana Marie's Bridal, officially opened May 2.
"We've got a lot of traffic uptown, a lot of walking traffic, so we're getting our name out," said owner Wendy Gladbach.
Ana Marie's Bridal, located at 223 E. High St. (the former home of Dallmeyer's Jewelry), offers bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses and bridal accessories, including veils and headpieces, jewelry, shoes and clutches in five brands: David Tutera, Sophia Tolli, Stella York/Sorella Vita, Jasmine Bridal and Mary's Bridal.
Gladbach recently added a wedding gown preservation option through a contracted company to the store's fare.
"It's a pre-paid service," she explained. "You buy a box and a pre-paid shipping label. We box it up and send it in, they clean the gown and fix any tears, and they box it up and send it back to you."
The boutique also will begin offering some wedding supplies, like specialty champagne glasses and other memorabilia, in the near future, Gladbach said.
Ana Marie's Bridal is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays and other times by appointment. Especially on Saturdays, Gladbach encourages customers to make appointments ahead of time by calling 573-636-1060.
