Helias drops decision to Osage in district tennis

Helias fell 5-1 to School of the Osage in the Class 1 District 8 tennis team championship Wednesday at Washington Park.

Dylan Grawe and Dalton Buschjost were the lone winners for the Crusaders, winning their doubles match 8-2.

T.J. Hagenhoff and Ryan Pollock fell 8-5 in doubles, and Klint Braun and Tristan Grawe lost 8-3.

In singles play, Braun lost 6-0, 6-0; Pollock was defeated 6-2, 6-2; and Dylan Grawe fell 6-1, 6-4.

Hagenhoff lost his first singles set 6-3 but was winning the second 4-3 before Osage had clinched its fifth point. Tristan Grawe was leading 6-3, 5-1 before his match was stopped, and Dalton Buschjost was trailing 6-2, 5-2.

The Crusaders end the season with a 9-7 record in dual play. Helias hosts the individual district tournament Saturday.
