Boys Golf: Jays trio advances to state in Class 4

CAMDENTON - The Jefferson City Jays took three golfers to Monday's sectional tournament at Old Kinderhook.

The trio aren't done playing just yet, as Gabe Trowbridge, Nate Erickson and Andrew Hansen all qualified for next week's Class 4 state tournament with their finishes at sectionals.

Trowbridge, a state qualifier the last two years, finished in a four-way tie for fifth in the individual standings with a 6-over 77. Erickson was 18th with an 82, while Hansen tied for 19th with an 83.

The three will now play in the Class 4 state tournament next Monday and Tuesday at Sedalia Country Club.

Rock Bridge and Glendale claimed the two team spots for the state tournament. Rock Bridge totaled a 308 on Monday, while Glendale finished with a 322.

Jack Knoesel shot a 74 to take medalist honors for Rock Bridge, one shot better than teammate Matt Echelmeier.

Camdenton advanced three players to state. Michael Pfitzner tied for 10th with an 79, one shot better than Braden Demark, who finished 13th. Seth Crockett was in a four-way tie for 14th with an 81.
