Lammers ties for best score in Division II PGA Minority Collegiate Championship

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Lincoln University golfer Blake Lammers tied for the individual championship in the Division II porton of the rain-shortened PGA Minority Collegiate Championship.

All individual scores and team results reverted back to the two-round totals from Friday and Saturday when inclement weather forced the suspension of play Sunday and tournament organizers determined some competitors would not be able to finish.

That meant Lammers, a graduate of Southern Boone High School, would share the title with Steven Martinez of Texas A&M International after both posted a two day total of 146. Lammers opened with a 71 and followed it up with a 75.

Cal State Dominguez Hills won the nine-team race with a score of 306-304-610, while Lincoln was fourth with a 319-320-639.

Also for the Blue Tigers, Cody Shaw shot an 82-79-160 to tie for 18th. Austin Ruediger posted a score of 81-80-161 to tie for 20th and Drew Geritz shot 85-87-172 to finish 32nd.

In the women's portion of the event, Lincoln finished ninth out of nine teams with a score of 352-367-371-1,090. Bethune-Cookman won with a score of 879.

Leading the way for Lincoln with a score of 82-86-83-251 was Sophia Pardalos. Also for the Blue Tigers, Mackenzie Wilson shot 84-92-93-269, Lauren McHenry carded a 86-94-94-274 and Hanna Berendzen posted a 100-95-101-296.

The event ends the season for both Lincoln squads.
