WICHITA, Kan. - Erin Struemph went the distance Friday to get the victory as Missouri State defeated Illinois State 3-1 in the semifinals of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.
Struemph (St. Elizabeth High School) tossed a five-hitter, walking two while striking out eight.
Second-seeded Missouri State (30-24) will be bidding for its first conference tournament title since 2011 today when it takes on eighth-seeded Indiana State, which upended top-seed Drake on Friday. Game time is noon.
