Blair Oaks baseball falls to Battle

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Battle Spartans put up all seven of their runs in the second inning Tuesday in a 7-3 victory against the Blair Oaks Falcons.

Blair Oaks scored in the first when Adam Schell, who had singled and advanced to third on a single by Jordan Hair, scored on an error.

Battle then took the lead for good with its seven-run second, helped in no small part by five Blair Oaks errors in the inning.

The Falcons then scored their other two runs in the third when Cole Stockman singled to score Schell and Hair.

Schell and Hair finished with two hits each in a six-hit Blair Oaks attack. Battle had just five hits in the game.

Bryce Pritchett took the loss for the Falcons, going the distance. He did not allow an earned run on the five hits. He didn't walk a batter and struck out seven.

Blair Oaks (11-16) is back in action Thursday at home against School of the Osage. The varsity game is slated for a 5 p.m. start.

In Tuesday's JV game, Blair Oaks defeated Battle 9-8. Ryan Paschel had two hits and scored twice for the Falcons (11-3), while Thomas Verslues also had two hits. Also scoring two runs were Ethan Rackers and Austin Herigon.

Rackers went the distance for the win, allowing three earned runs on seven hits. He struck out four.
