LAKE OZARK, Mo. -- Mean machines, classic coupes, hot rods and other vehicles cruised Friday into the annual Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals for the three-day festival on the Bagnell Dam Strip.

The entire Strip was closed to traffic so 1,000 registered vehicles could pop their tops and show off what's under their hoods.

Started in 1989, Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals has continued to grow in size and popularity, and that's partly because it's the only car show in the Midwest to give away a brand new muscle car to one lucky winner each year for the last nine years, according to a news release on the event.

Other event activities included a poker run Thursday, a classic car parade Friday and a kids fun zone where the younger car enthusiasts could "make-n-take" models of their favorite cars Saturday.

In addition, there was a 50/50 raffle and a drawing for a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro RS, compliments of Lake Ozark Daybreak Rotary Club.

The Magic Dragon Street Meet is open 8 a.m.-1 p.m. today, with judging from 9-11 a.m. Winners in 27 different competitive classes and the overall grand champion will be announced at 1 p.m. at the main stage located at Lake Ozark Live, 1508 Bagnell Dam Blvd.
