Sam's Club is tentatively set to open its Jefferson City store July 23.

Construction began on the local membership-only retail warehouse last fall. When completed, the Jefferson City Sam's Club and an accompanying fuel station will occupy 136,454 square feet of property on the eastern side of Stoneridge Parkway.

While Sam's Club typically does not announce a definite opening date for a store until about a month before, the progress of construction is such that the Jefferson City store is "probably on track" for a July 23 opening, said Sam's Club spokesperson Dianna Gee.

A grand opening celebration is scheduled for July 23 at the store, located at 849 Stoneridge Parkway, and will feature special event pricing, showcase events and tastings throughout the club, as well as opportunities for free health screenings from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

A Sam's Club hiring and membership center remains open at 1406 Missouri Blvd. in Jefferson Plaza, where those interested in jobs at the new store can apply for positions and those interested in memberships can get more information. The hiring center can be reached by phone at 573-761-9101 or 573-761-9102.
