FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Charlie Davies and Teal Bunbury scored and the New England Revolution held off the previously unbeaten New York Red Bulls 2-1 on Saturday night.

Davies gave the Revolution (5-2-2) an early lead with a diving header in the ninth minute, finishing from just inside the 6-yard box on London Woodberry's cross. Lee Nguyen and Scott Caldwell's nifty two-pass combo freed Bunbury to double the lead with a right-footed strike in the 60th minute.

The Revolution improved to 17 points, putting them in a tie for first in the MLS with FC Dallas and D.C. United.

Sacha Kljestan pulled the Red Bulls (3-1-4) within one in the 73rd minute, dribbling past goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth and finishing into the open net.

The Red Bulls were the last unbeaten team in MLS.

CARSON, Calif. (AP) - Alan Gordon scored on a header in the 75th minute to help Los Angeles salvage a draw with Colorado.

Stefan Ishizaki's served up a bending kick from the right corner for Gordon. The Galaxy (3-2-4) extended their unbeaten streak at StubHub Center to 27 games - including all competitions - and outscored their opponents 64-18 during that span.

Colorado's Gabriel Torres opened the scoring in the 40th minute when he raced behind the defense and slotted the ball past goalkeeper Jaime Penedo. Michael Harrington sprang the counterattack at midfield, sending Omar Gonzalez's errant pass into the empty field ahead of Torres.

It was the third straight 1-1 draw for the Rapids (1-2-6).

United (5-1-2) won their second straight game, extending their unbeaten streak to six. It's the best eight-game start in franchise history.

Federico Higuain narrowly missed a header in the 53rd minute for the Crew (3-3-2), who had a four-game winning streak snapped.

TIMBERS 0, WHITECAPS FC 0, TIE

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - The return of Portland's from an ACL injury was the highlight of the Timbers' 0-0 draw with Vancouver.

Valeri, the Timbers' top goal-scorer the last two seasons, has been out of action since tearing his left ACL on Oct. 25. Portland (2-3-4) has missed Valeri's touch this season, netting just seven goals in nine games.

In the first half, Vancouver defender Pa Modou Kah was called for a handball, but Darlington Nagbe's penalty kick attempt ricocheted off the base of the goalpost and bounced clear.

Vancouver (5-3-2) moved into a tie with FC Dallas for first place in the Western Conference.

Vancouver goalkeeper David Ousted made one save in his fifth shutout of the season. Timbers keeper Adam Kwarasey made two saves to earn his fourth shutout.

CHESTER, Pa. (AP) - Sebastian Giovinco scored on a free kick in the 34th minute and Toronto FC ended a seven-game trip with a victory over Philadelphia.

Giovinco knuckled it just inside the left post from 35 yards out for his fourth goal of the season.

Toronto FC (3-4-0) opened the season away from home to allow for renovations of its BMO Field. TFC had a four-game losing streak after winning the season opener but rebounded to win the last two.

Chris Konopka earned his first MLS shutout while making his first start for Toronto.

Cristian Maidana had the Union's best chance in first-half stoppage time when he crashed a left-footed shot into the crossbar. The Union (1-6-3) lost their third straight and extended their winless streak to four.
