Missouri posts 3-2 victory vs. Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Missouri Tigers evened their baseball series with the Texas A&M Aggies with a 3-2 victory Saturday afternoon.

Missouri rallied from a 2-0 deficit with two runs in the fourth and one in the eighth.

Ryan Howard doubled home Josh Lester for the game-winner in the eighth. Brett Bond and Logan Bone had RBI in the fourth for the Tigers.

The Aggies outhit the Tigers 12-7 in the game.

Tanner Hauck picked up the win for Missouri, working the first seven innings. He allowed two runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out three.

Breckin Williams pitched the final two innings to get the save, giving up four hits and striking out two.

It was Missouri's eighth win in nine one-run games this season and the first home loss of the season for Texas A&M.

The Aggies (26-2 overall, 6-2 Southeastern Conference) are ranked in the top three of all five of the Division I rankings. A&M is ranked No. 1 by Collegiate Baseball, No. 2 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and No. 3 in the polls issued by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, D1Baseball.com and Baseball America.

Missouri (20-8, 6-2) shows up in just one of the polls, as the Tigers are No. 23 in the Collegiate Baseball rankings.

The final contest of the three-game set is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. today.

On Friday, the Aggies defeated the Tigers 7-4.

After three scorless innings, A&M pushed across a run in the fourth and two in the fifth to lead 3-0.

Missouri tied it with a three-run top of the sixth that included RBI singles by Zach Lavy and Bond and an RBI groundout by Chris Akmon.

But they gave back two runs in the bottom of the frame and two more in the eight to trail 7-3. Missouri got its final run in the top of the ninth on an RBI double by Trey Harris.

Bond ended up with three hits and one RBI, Harris had two hits and one RBI and Howard had a pair of hits.

Reggie McClain (4-2) took the loss for the Tigers. He worked the first 51/3 innings, allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits and one walk while striking out five.

Austin Tribby pitched the next two innings and allowed two runs (one earned) on one hit and one walk with one strikeout. Lake Dabney got the final two outs.
