Lincoln falls in baseball twinbill

KEARNEY, Neb. - The Lincoln Blue Tigers were outscored 33-2 Saturday in dropping a doubleheader to Nebraska Kearney.

Nebraska Kearney pounded out 21 hits in winning the opener 20-2.

Lincoln scored its two runs in the seventh on singles by Alex Ludwick and Kolton Clark.

Trevor Schnieders took the loss, allowing 11 runs (nine earned) on 12 hits and a walk in 3 1/3 innings. Mason Price and Jameson Mahan pitched in relief.

Lincoln had just six hits in getting blanked 13-0 in the second game. Kaleb Davis had two of the hits for the Blue Tigers.

Gus Goodnight took the loss for Lincoln. He pitched the first four innings, allowing 10 runs on 11 hits and a walk while striking out two. Dalton Goings allowed three runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks in three innings of relief. He struck out one.

Lincoln (1-21 overall, 1-13 Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletics Association) and Nebraska Kearney (10-19, 13-5) will play another doubleheader today.
