Missouri cuts ties with Fuller

Speculation became official Thursday when the Missouri basketball program announced associate head coach Tim Fuller will no longer coach at the school.

Fuller spent four years with the Tigers, joining in 2011 alongside then-head coach Frank Haith. When Haith departed for Tulsa following the 2013-14 season, Fuller remained on the staff under new coach Kim Anderson.

In 2012, ESPN named Fuller, now 37, one of the top 10 basketball assistants under the age of 40. Six of the coaches on that list now have head coaching jobs.

Fuller was a walk-on at Wake Forest, where he played for the Demon Deacons from 1996-2000. After graduating, he worked as an intern with the Atlantic Coast Conference and a volunteer coach with North Carolina A&T.

Before coming to Missouri, he coached as an assistant at West Forsyth High School in Clemmons, N.C., before serving as an assistant at Elon, Wake Forest, Fairfield and Louisville.

He also held the director of basketball operations position under Haith at Miami and also worked with Nike as an NBA marketing field representative before coaching for a year under Rick Pitino at Louisville.

When Haith was suspended for five games in 2013, Fuller served as Missouri's interim coach, winning every game.

Fuller was reportedly a candidate to take the head coaching job at Florida A&M after Haith left, but he chose to remain at Missouri.
