Tennis: Helias 8, Moberly 0

The Helias boys tennis team began its season with a victory Tuesday, defeating Moberly 8-0 at Washington Park.

The match ended early due to rain.

In varsity doubles, T.J. Hagenhoff and Klint Braun won 8-2, as did Ryan Pollock and Dalton Buschjost, and Dylan Grawe and Tristan Grawe won 8-5.

In varsity singles, Hagenhoff won the No. 1 match 6-0, 6-0. In the No. 2 singles match, Braun took the first set 6-3 but did not finish the second set. Pollock won the No. 3 match 7-5, 6-2. In the No. 4 singles match, Dylan Grawe won 7-5, 6-3. In the No. 5 spot, Buschjost won 6-3, 6-1. Tristan Grawe took the No. 6 match 6-3, 6-1.

The Crusaders finished 6-1 in JV doubles. Dane Haugen and Ben Mitan, Logan Shaffer and Jordan Roling, Mark Lamb and Jacob Wolken, and Jordan Cowell and Cance Pool all won 6-0. Ben Husting and Seth Pezley won 6-1. Shane Kliethermes and Matthew Witt won 6-2.

Helias (1-0) hosts Battle on Tuesday.
