5 area residents hurt in trio of accidents

Three Jefferson City residents were treated for injuries after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Moniteau County.

Missouri Highway Patrol reports show Edward Sauter, 68, was attempting to make a left turn from Route V onto Settlen Road around 4:50 p.m.

He went into the path of a vehicle driven by Sally Lowery, 35, causing Lowery to strike Sauter nearly head-on.

Sauter and Lowery were treated for moderate injuries while Lowery's passenger, Jaycie Lowery, 8, was treated for minor injuries.

All those involved were wearing seat belts.

• An Eldon woman was treated for minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Miller County.

Patrol reports show Karen Sapp was going west on U.S. 54 around 3:30 p.m.

A vehicle driven by Sonseawray Hunner, 43, Eldon, failed to yield to Sapp and pulled out in front of her at the intersection of Lakeland Road.

Hunner had no reported injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

• A Bland woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday on Missouri 28 at Route EE east of Belle in Maries County.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2003 Dodge Ram, driven westbound by Holly L. Hiatt, 23 Bland, failed to yield to a 2008 International dump truck, driven northbound by Ricky E. Matlock, 64, St. James. The vehicles collided.

Hiatt was taken to Phelps County Regional Medical Center.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
