Struemph gets win against Bradley

PEORIA, Ill. - Erin Struemph picked up the victory as Missouri State slipped past Bradley 3-2 in softball action Sunday.

Struemph (St. Elizabeth High School) pitched the first 61/3 innings, giving up two earned runs on eight hits. She walked three and struck out one.

The Bears are now 14-14 overall and 3-3 in the Missouri Valley Conference, while Bradley is 6-24 and 1-5.

The teams split a pair of games Saturday, with Bradley taking the first game 5-1 and Missouri State winning the second contest by a 3-2 decision in eight innings.

Struemph got the win in the nightcap, throwing a complete game and giving up just one earned run. She allowed seven hits and walked three while striking out nine.

Sara Jones (Blair Oaks High School) came in as a pinch-runner for the Bears in the sixth inning and scored the team's second run.
