Convicted southwest Missouri rustler enters plea

CASSVILLE, Mo. (AP) - A suspect in the theft of more than $100,000 worth of southwest Missouri livestock and farm equipment has entered a plea.

The Joplin Globe (http://bit.ly/1IbqWSf) reports that 65-year-old Howard L. Perryman, of Monett, pleaded guilty this week in Barry County to a receiving stolen property count. On a count of theft, he entered an Alford plea in which he admitted no guilt but acknowledged the probability of a conviction if the case went to trial. He was sentenced to concurrent seven-year prison terms.

Perryman previously pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property charges that were filed in 2010. The latest plea was for charges filed in 2013.

He still faces three counts of theft in Lawrence County and counts of theft and tampering with a motor vehicle in Greene County.
