Central Oklahoma baseball overpowers Lincoln, 31-7

Central Oklahoma belted nine home runs Monday on its way to a 31-7 victory against the Lincoln Blue Tigers in baseball action at Lincoln Field.

Central Oklahoma used a pair of two-run shots to propel themselves to a 6-0 lead after one inning. The Bronchos then hit four long balls in a 14-run second inning to make it 20-0.

Lincoln scored single runs in the second and third innings. Trevor Schnieders singled home the run in the second, while Nick Lovell doubled to bring home the run in the third.

After scoring a run in the third, Central Oklahoma hit two home runs in the fourth and another in the fifth to make it 28-2.

Lincoln plated four runs in its half of the fifth on singles by Lovell and Gus Goodnight, followed by a two-run double by Dylan Koehler.

Central Oklahoma then scored three times in the seventh to make the final 31-7.

Ethan Elory hit three of the home runs for the Bronchos, while Tyler Hatcher had two. The total of nine tied a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association single-game record.

Dillon Walker had three hits to pace a 12-hit Lincoln attack. Lovell and Alex Ludwick added two hits each. Walker and Kolton Clark both scored two runs.

Ryan Simpson took the loss for Lincoln, allowing six earned runs on six hits and a walk in one inning of work.

Central Oklahoma is now 9-10 overall, 5-6 in the MIAA.

Lincoln (0-13, 0-8) will host Missouri S&T in a non-conference contest at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
