Your Opinion: Wood-burning stoves jeopardized

Dear Editor:

Well, it would certainly appear to me that our nations vastly increasing numbers of tree huggers, and/or more likely the do-gooder groups such as the tens of thousands of assorted non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are indeed up to their circus antics once more. This time they are whining, crying, and shoving more pressure than ever before on our government and the EPA to do their bidding on the issue of wood burning and wood burning stoves.

For anyone who doesn't quite have a full understanding of just exactly what a non-governmental organization (NGO) is, they are usually set up by ordinary citizens. NGOs may be funded by either governments, foundations, businesses or private persons. And an NGO is an organization that is neither a part of a government nor a conventional for-profit business.

Now as for the issue at hand, I could rip holes in this entire statute all day long, but it's so unbelievably ridiculous. Perhaps maybe Obama can have the EPA and its wood-stove ticketing agents ban lightning since it burns down trees. Now there's a pun for you.

I wish to quote Thomas Jefferson on something he once said: "When the government gets big enough to give you everything you want, they are large enough to take everything you have."

In the meantime as will many other guys such as myself, I'll be enjoying my 20-inch CS-590 for more earth day wood cutting/burning freedom.
