College Softball: William Woods splits

FULTON - The William Woods softball team split a pair of games Saturday to open the home portion of its schedule.

The Owls started the day with a 2-0 win against the Westminster Blue Jays.

A two-out, two-run home run by Hillary Hentges (Helias High School) in the bottom of the fourth inning - one of just two hits in the game for the Owls - accounted for all of the runs in the game.

William Woods then dropped a 7-1 decision to Briar Cliff in the nightcap.

Hannah Campbell (Russellville High School) had one of the Owls' four hits in the contest.

William Woods is now 5-10 on the season.
