FESTUS, Mo. - The Jefferson City American Legion Post 5 Seniors won a pair of games Saturday in the Festus Invitational.
Post 5 opened with a 6-1 victory against Charleston.
Sam Bowles got the win, working the first 52/3 innings. He allowed five hits and struck out six. Logan Vogel pitched the final 11/3 innings.
Vogel, Cody Stegeman, Adam Grunden and Gavin Strobel all had two hits for Post 5. Stegeman drove in two runs.
In the second game, Jake Pridgin had a walk-off RBI as Post 5 posted a 5-4 win against Tupelo, Miss.
Alex Barton had three hits and two RBI to pace Post 5 in the game. Stegeman, Grunden, Austin Sachse and Pridgin all added two hits.
Alex Dickneite went the distance to get the win on the mound.
Post 5 (8-2) is scheduled to play two games today in the Invitational.
