On Monday at about 4p.m., the Jefferson City Police Department's SWAT Team, along with members of the MUSTANG Task Force, served a narcotics search warrant in the 500 block of Holiday Drive in Jefferson City.
SWAT Members entered the residence and located over 16 grams of methamphetamine, about 1 pound of marijuana, over $12,000 in cash, and a number of items associated with the packaging and distribution of illegal drugs. The suspect was not at the residence at the time, but several family members were there. They were questions and released, with no charges pending as of Tuesday.
The suspect, 35 year old Ernest Mahaney of Jefferson City, was taken into custody at a separate location. Mahaney was arrested for two counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, for which he is already on probation.
Mahaney was taken to the Cole County Jail pending formal charges.
