St. Louis-area man charged in fatal shooting

CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - A 20-year-old man has been charged in a fatal north St. Louis County shooting.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1ARSSeS) reports that prosecutors on Thursday charged Terrence Harvey of Florissant with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the killing of 18-year-old DeMarco Watson of Ferguson. He was jailed on a $500,000 cash bail. His attorney, Nick Zotos, didn't immediately return a phone call from The Associated Press seeking comment.

Police say Watson was sitting on the front porch of a home on May 26 when three people walked up and one started kicking Watson. Police say Harvey pulled out a handgun and shot Watson in the chest. Watson pulled his own gun and shot back but it's unclear if his shot hit anyone.

Watson died at the scene.
