2 treated after Mid-Missouri traffic accidents

A Jefferson City man remained in good condition Saturday at Capital Region Medical Center after he was hurt in a two-vehicle accident.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said Charles A. Eisterhold, 77, of Jefferson City, was taken to the hospital after his southbound 1996 Honda Accord hit a 2002 Chrysler Sebring that had been left in the road after a previous accident.

Troopers said Eiseterhold was using his seatbelt when the accident happened at 9:35 p.m. Friday, on U.S. 63 north of Claysville Road in Boone County.

No one else was involved in the accident, so no other injuries were reported - and no details were available about the previous accident that had resulted in the Sebring being abandoned on the highway, facing westbound in the southbound lane.

• Earlier Friday, Jenna Holtman, 17, of Freeburg, was taken to the hospital after her 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier ran into the back of a 1999 GMC Sonoma that was stopped in traffic on U.S. 63, almost a mile north of the Route E intersection in Osage County.

Tonya C. Linnenbrink, 49, of Linn, was driving the Sonoma, and wasn't reported as being injured.

Both women were using seat belts. Both vehicles were northbound when the accident happened at 6:05 p.m. Friday.

Holtman was treated and released from Capital Region.
