Tibaldi leaves Missouri for DePaul

COLUMBIA - Missouri men's basketball director of operations Bryan Tibaldi has accepted a staff position at DePaul after four seasons with the Tigers.

Tibaldi, who served as video coordinator at Missouri from 2011-13 before a promotion to his role as director of operations. He will serve in the same position at DePaul.

Tibaldi joins Dave Leitao's staff at DePaul. Leitao served as an assistant coach at Missouri from 2013-14. Another former Tiger assistant, Rick Carter, is the associate head coach for the Blue Demons.

"Dave Leitao and Rick Carter are two men that have been great friends and mentors to me in this business," Tibaldi said. "I've had the privilege of working with them both previously, so the chance to help them build a winner at DePaul was an opportunity I simply could not pass up. Only a truly unique and special opportunity would pull me away from Mizzou."

Tibaldi will handle the day-to-day operations of the DePaul program.

"Bryan will be an integral element of our daily operations in coordinating our team travel, recruiting and academics," Leitao said. "His familiarity with myself and Rick as well as the city of Chicago will be vital for our program and student-athlete success."

Tibaldi helped play a key role in the transition to the Anderson era prior to the 2014-15 season.

"Congratulations to Bryan for having the chance to reconnect with coach Leitao at DePaul," Anderson said. "We are certainly appreciative of Bryan's outstanding work this last season during my first year as head coach, as well as his overall efforts during his previous four seasons at Mizzou. Bryan has a great basketball mind, and I certainly expect him to have continued success in our profession."

Tibaldi came to Missouri in 2011 after working for two seasons with the Chicago Bulls as an assistant video coordinator.

The Traverse City, Mich., native previously served as a graduate assistant for his alma mater, Michigan State, from 2007-09. Tibaldi was a walk-on and two-year letterwinner as a guard for the Spartans under head coach Tom Izzo.

Tibaldi is the second member of the Missouri basketball staff who will not return next season. Last month, Tim Fuller accepted a non-coaching job at Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis as an advisor to the institution's president on sports-related matters.

Fuller had also been at Missouri for four seasons.
