Victim of fatal shooting at beach identified

HOUSE SPRINGS, Mo. (AP) - Authorities have released the identity of a man fatally shot at an eastern Missouri beach.

The Daily Journal newspaper in Park Hills, Missouri (http://bit.ly/1LZrlvZ) reports that the victim was 34-year-old Patrick Marchlewski of St. Louis County. He died Saturday night after being shot in the chest several times at Rockford Beach Park in House Springs.

Authorities say Marchlewski and a 30-year-old man from High Ridge were involved in an argument. As the High Ridge man was about to leave, Marchlewski allegedly approached the driver's side of his vehicle and an argument began again, leading to the shooting.

The suspect was arrested but the Jefferson County prosecuting attorney's office declined to file charges. However, an investigation continues.
