A Crocker, Mo., teenager recently pleaded guilty in Cole County to amended charges in connection with a December 2014 break-in at a home in the 4800 block of Sunrise Drive in Taos.
Prosecutors had charged Arica Shelton, 18, with second-degree burglary, stealing and first-degree property damage.
She pleaded guilty to first-degree trespassing, second-degree property damage and theft, all misdemeanors.
She was placed on two years unsupervised probation and ordered to pay $279.50 in restitution and complete 30 hours of community service.
A Cole County sheriff's probable cause statement said Shelton was interviewed while in custody at the Crocker Police Department and provided a written statement about the burglary.
According to her statement, Shelton went inside the residence and stole guitars, electronics and coins.
Shelton, while on the property, caused $3,924.82 worth of damage to the residence and the property inside.
