CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - The longtime president of Southeast Missouri State University, who retired last month, will remain on the payroll as a consultant.
The Southeast Missourian (http://bit.ly/1TUFADC) reports that the university's regents have authorized payment of up to $75,000 for Dobbins to represent Southeast in the St. Louis area and assist Carlos Vargas-Aburto with his transition into the presidency.
Dobbins will earn $75 per hour to perform duties directed by Vargas, who took over following Dobbins' retirement on June 30.
The board expects transitional items to be completed no later than next June.
