Pressey waived by Celtics

BOSTON - The Boston Celtics have waived guard Phil Pressey.

Pressey averaged 3.5 points, 1.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 12.0 minutes last season, with a season-high of 11 points against Miami on March 25.

He also played in 75 games for the Celtics in 2013-14 after he signed with the team as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Missouri.

The move came just hours before Pressey's contract was scheduled to become fully guaranteed for the 2015-16 season. Pressey had been attending the Celtics' summer league games in Salt Lake City, but had not appeared in a game.

The Celtics selected three guards in the 2015 draft - Terry Rozier, R.J. Hunter and Marcus Thornton.
