DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Angel Rodriguez scored 24 points and Miami shot 67 percent after halftime to upset No. 4 Duke 90-74 on Tuesday night, snapping the Blue Devils' 41-game home winning streak.
Manu Lecomte had a career-high 23 points for the Hurricanes (12-4, 2-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), who dominated the final 20 minutes with their pesky defense and attacking dribble penetration that the Blue Devils just couldn't defend.
Trailing 35-34 at the break, Miami shot 18-for-27 after halftime and hit 6 of 9 3-pointers - a stunningly one-sided show starring a team that lost by 28 points at home to Eastern Kentucky on Dec. 19.
Duke (14-2, 2-2) hadn't lost at Cameron Indoor Stadium since March 2012 and hadn't lost consecutive regular-season games since February 2009.
But much like Sunday's loss at against North Carolina State, the Blue Devils were unable to slow a hot-shooting team nor keep up at their own offensive end.
No. 1 KENTUCKY 86, MISSOURI 37
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Aaron Harrison scored 16 points including five 3-pointers, and Kentucky finally earned a conference victory in regulation by drilling Missouri.
After needing overtime to beat Mississippi and Texas A&M by nine total points, the Wildcats (16-0, 3-0 Southeastern Conference) had the overmatched Tigers (7-9, 1-2) under control by halftime with a 44-18 lead. The margin eventually reached 49 in the final minute as Kentucky rolled to its most decisive outcome since last month's 39-point rout of UCLA.
Harrison played a big role in that by making most of the Wildcats' eight long-range baskets. It was the second time in three games he has made at least five from behind the arc.
Willie Cauley-Stein added 13 points and Karl-Anthony Towns 12 as Kentucky shot 48 percent from the field. The Wildcats also held Missouri to a season-low 27 percent and outrebounded the Tigers 46-27.
No. 2 VIRGINIA 65, CLEMSON 42
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - Malcolm Brogdon scored 16 points, and Virginia took command with a 29-6 run to start the second half of a victory against Clemson.
Justin Anderson added 15 points for the Cavaliers (16-0, 4-0 Atlantic Coast Conference), who won their 20th consecutive game at John Paul Jones Arena. The win, with former Virginia great and three-time national player of the year Ralph Sampson in attendance, gave Virginia it first 4-0 start in conference play since the 1994-95 season.
Jaron Blossomgame scored nine points to lead the Tigers (9-7, 1-3). Clemson closed to 25-19 at halftime, but didn't score for the first five minutes thereafter as Virginia expanded its lead to 34-19.
With the score at 40-25, a three-point play by Darion Atkins and a 3-pointer by Brogdon stared a 16-0 burst to finish the run, making it 54-25, and coach Tony Bennett began substituting liberally.
No. 6 LOUISVILLE 78, VIRGINIA TECH 63
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Chris Jones had a career-high 11 assists and Terry Rozier scored 16 points as Louisville easily brushed off Virginia Tech.
Louisville (15-2, 3-1 ACC) tied a season-high with 10 3-pointers and had one of its best shooting performances of the season hitting 48 percent from the field (31 of 65). Rozier hit 4 of 6 from behind the arc.
Wayne Blackshear added 15 points and Montrezl Harrell and Mangok Mathiang each had 11 points and eight rebounds as the Cardinals bounced back from Saturday's 72-71 loss at North Carolina.
Adam Smith had 19 points, hitting 5 of 7 3-pointers, and Justin Bibbs scored 15 for the Hokies (8-8, 0-3), who lost their fourth straight game after winning the previous four.
After trading baskets to start the game, Louisville established itself early with a 15-0 run and led by as many as 29.
No. 9 KANSAS 67, No. 24 OKLAHOMA STATE 57
LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) - Frank Mason III had 16 points and nine rebounds, Kelly Oubre Jr. added 14 points and Kansas beat Oklahoma State to remain perfect in the Big 12.
The Jayhawks (14-2) moved to 3-0 in league play for the ninth straight year largely thanks to its ability to get to the foul line. Kansas was 32 of 46 on free throws while attempting just 43 field goals in a game made choppy by the abundance of whistles.
Oklahoma State (12-4, 2-2) was still within 61-55 with 1:48 remaining, but Mason made two of his nine free throws and Devonte' Graham added two more moments later to put the game away.
Le'Bryan Nash scored all but two of his 21 points in the second half to lead the Cowboys.
No. 16 WEST VIRGINIA 86, No. 18 OKLAHOMA 65
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Jevon Carter scored 18 points and West Virginia got its strongest performance of the season from its bench to beat Oklahoma.
Devin Williams added 14 points and 11 rebounds while Nathan Adrian scored a season-high 11 for the Mountaineers (15-2, 3-1 Big 12).
West Virginia's bench amassed 55 points, led by Carter and Adrian. The Mountaineers' previous high from its bench this season was 35.
Buddy Hield scored 21 and Isaiah Cousins added 14 for Oklahoma (11-5, 2-2), which has lost back-to-back games for the first time this season.
West Virginia led 45-32 at halftime and by as many as 24 late in the game.
No. 17 VCU 65, RHODE ISLAND 60
KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) - Treveon Graham scored 16 of his 26 points in the second half and Virginia Commonwealth rallied for a victory over Rhode Island.
VCU (14-3, 4-0 A-10) has now won a conference-best nine consecutive games.
Mo Alie-Cox was the only other VCU player to reach double figures as he scored 10 points.
Rhode Island (11-4, 3-1) saw its six-game winning streak end. It was the Rams' longest since the 2009-10 season.
Hassan Martin added 10 for Rhode Island.
Rhode Island led 49-40 early in the second half when Virginia Commonwealth went on an 11-2 run which enabled it to tie the game 51-51 with 5:22 remaining.
Graham sparked a late-game run by tipping in the rebound of a missed shot and later nailing a 3-point shot that game his team a 59-58 lead.
Briante Weber converted 4-of-4 free throws in the final 11.7 seconds to clinch the victory.
TENNESSEE 74, No. 19 ARKANSAS 69
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Josh Richardson scored 20 points and Tennessee withstood a furious Arkansas comeback to hang on for a victory over the Razorbacks.
After trailing by 13 points with under four minutes left, Arkansas (13-3, 2-1 Southeastern Conference) cut the margin to three and had a chance to tie the game when Anton Beard was fouled by Kevin Punter while attempting a 3-pointer with 5.1 seconds remaining.
But Beard missed all three of his ensuing free throws. Armani Moore clinched the victory by sinking two free throws with 3.7 seconds remaining.
Tennessee (10-5, 2-1) snapped Arkansas' seven-game winning streak despite shooting just 14 of 26 from the line, including 12 of 22 in the second half.
Robert Hubbs scored a career-high 16 points and Moore added 14 for Tennessee. Bobby Portis scored 17, Michael Qualls had 15 and Beard added 12 for Arkansas.
BUTLER 79, No. 21 SETON HALL 75, OT
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Roosevelt Jones scored a season-high 23 points, Kellen Dunham added 21 and Butler knocked off Seton Hall.
Dunham and Jones scored nine of the first 10 points in the overtime for Butler (13-5, 3-2 Big East), which blew a late seven-point second-half lead. Andrew Chrabascz added 12 points and Kameron Woods had 15 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who posted an impressive win over Xavier this past weekend
Sterling Gibbs led Seton Hall (13-4, 3-2) with 30 points before fouling out with 2:08 left in overtime. Khadeen Carrington added a career-best 20 points and fellow freshman Angel Delgado had 12 points and a career-best 15 rebounds in the Pirates' first loss at home.
No. 23 NORTHERN IOWA 63, BRADLEY 52
PEORIA, Ill. (AP) - Seth Tuttle scored 15 points and sank four late free throws to help Northern Iowa beat Bradley.
The Panthers (15-2, 4-1) dominated the Braves both offensively and defensively early, leading 29-9 at one point late in the first half. Natt Buss and Paul Jesperson chipped in 11 and 9 points respectively for Northern Iowa.
Auston Barnes led Bradley (6-12, 1-4) with 14 points. Warren Jones added 10, while Josh Cunningham grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
Northern Iowa's ninth-ranked defense made its presence felt in the opening minute, forcing a turnover and a quick two points off Bradley's first possession of the game. The Panthers led 35-18 at the half.
