Web page devoted to Lafayette Street project

The Missouri Department of Transportation has developed a web page about the two-year $20.3 million Lafayette Street Interchange project in Jefferson City.

The page can be found on MoDOT's Central District website at modot.org/central by clicking on the "Lafayette Street Interchange" banner at the top of the page. The website can also be found at www.modot.org/central/major_projects/LafayetteInterchange.htm.

The website includes a general project overview, information about current construction work and future construction schedules, maps showing construction phases, as well as the ability to sign up for weekly email updates about the project. This page will also serve as an information hub to give motorists advance notice of any major traffic impacts affecting their travel.

The project includes building a new interchange at U.S. 50 and Lafayette; adding a lane in each direction on the Whitton Expressway from Monroe Street to Lafayette and from Lafayette to Clark Avenue; along with rehabilitating, replacing or constructing six bridges along the corridor.
