Two accidents reported in Jefferson City

Jefferson City police worked two injury accidents Tuesday.

Police reports show the first accident occurred in the 400 block of East Miller Street just after 3 p.m.

A vehicle driven by Grant Mason, 17, was going west on East Miller and did not stop in time before crashing into the rear of a stopped vehicle being driven by Tessalena Coan, 41, Holts Summit.

Mason and a passenger in Coan's vehicle, a 16-year-old male from Holts Summit, were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Coan had minor injuries, but was not transported from the scene.

All those involved were wearing seat belts.

The second accident occurred at the intersection of Missouri Boulevard and Dix Road around 6:30 p.m.

A vehicle driven by Troy Funk, 35, Jefferson City, was going east on Missouri and failed to stop for a red light at the Dix intersection.

Funk entered the intersection and crashed into a vehicle driven by Joshua Hanlin, 32, Jefferson City.

Hanlin and his passenger, Randall Hanlin, 58, Jefferson City, were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Funk had no reported injuries.

All those involved were wearing seat belts.

The road was blocked at the intersection for southbound traffic on Dix for about 30 minutes so crews could clear the accident scene.
