MOKANE, Mo. - The California Lady Pintos dropped a 44-40 decision Wednesday night to Hallsville in the semifinals of the Class 3 District 8 Tournament.
Hallsville led 9-7 after one quarter and 23-22 at the half. The game was knotted at 31 heading into the final period.
Elizabeth Lutz tossed in 14 points to lead California, which ends the season at 14-11.
Hannah Stevens totaled a game-high 23 points for top-seeded Hallsville (17-10), who will play Southern Boone for the title at 7 p.m. Friday.
Southern Boone rallied to defeat Hermann 43-40 in the second semifinal Wednesday. Hermann led 22-10 at the half before Southern Boone came back for the victory.
