Blue Tigers host Lindenwood with postseason on line

Lincoln will host Lindenwood for a basketball doubleheader today in the Blue Tigers' final home games of the season. The women's game has been pushed back to 3 p.m., and the men's game has been moved to 5 p.m.

The women's team (11-12, 6-11 Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletic Association) has a postseason berth on the line. A win would ensure the Blue Tigers finish in the top 12 of the 14-team MIAA and advance to the conference tournament.

Lincoln won the first meeting between the teams, 61-47 on Feb. 4 in St. Charles.

Lizzie Nessling led the Blue Tigers with 18 points, and Kelsey Williams put up 13 to go with 12 rebounds. Williams and Hunter Yoakum lead the team with 12.3 points per game each.

Lincoln has lost three of four games since then, and the Lady Lions (11-13, 4-13) have gone 2-2.

The Blue Tigers are coming off a 77-49 loss to Missouri Western. Lincoln currently sits 10th in the MIAA standings. At their current position, the Blue Tigers would play a first-round game March 3 in Topeka, Kan., against Washburn.

Lindenwood freshman Bre Zanders (Helias High School) averages 3.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
