No. 2 Missouri wrestling downs Eastern Michigan for conference title

YPSLILANTI, Mich. - The Missouri Tigers claimed the Mid-American Conference championship Sunday with a 31-7 dual victory against Eastern Michigan.

Missouri, ranked No. 2 in the country, wraps up the MAC dual schedule with an 8-0 record. The Tigers are now 20-0 in duals this season.

The Tigers won eight of the 10 matches Sunday, getting bonus points in three of the victories. Drake Houdashelt won by fall at 149 pounds, as did Johnny Eblen at 174. Devin Mellon of the Tigers won by major decision at heavyweight.

Winning by decision for Missouri were Chase Brennan at 125, Zach Synon at 133, Lavion Mayes at 141, Ty Prazma at 165 and J'Den Cox at 197.

Missouri returns to action at noon Sunday against American in the National Duals Regionals. It's the final home dual for the Tigers. The National Duals Finals will be held Feb. 21-22 at the University of Iowa.
