Lady Crusaders take second at Borgia tourney

WASHINGTON, Mo. - The Helias Lady Crusaders dropped a 51-39 decision Saturday to the Borgia Lady Knights in the title game of the Borgia Tournament.

Borgia led 13-11 after one quarter before Helias came back to take a 22-21 advantage into the break. The Lady Crusaders were outscored 19-11 in the third quarter and trailed 40-33 heading into the final period.

Molly Sandbothe was the lone Helias player to score in double figures, finishing with 11 points. She also pulled down a team-high nine rebounds.

Cassidy Moss had a game-high 18 points for Borgia (15-3), while Megan Jensen added 16.

Helias (12-8) will host Mexico on Tuesday at Rackers Fieldhouse. The varsity girls game will start at 6 p.m., with the varsity boys to follow around 7:30 p.m.
