The Helias boys soccer team kicked off the year with a bang Friday, defeating Camdenton 5-1 at 179 soccer park. The win was the first for new coach Michael Metzger.
Braden Remmert led the Crusaders with two goals. Grant Stokes, Luke Mercurio and Sam Heckart each scored a goal as well. Nick Brandt, Heckart, Jack Schrimpf and Matthew Schulte had assists.
Ben Mitan played in goal for the Crusaders.
Helias (1-0) hosts Kirksville on Tuesday.
