COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Fatima Lady Comets came up short of a win in their first game of the season Friday, losing 6-5 to Battle.
Makayla Buscher had two hits, including a home run, and four RBI to lead the Comets offensively. Five other Fatima players had a hit each.
Buscher took the loss, allowing three hits and a striking out one. She pitched in relief of Macy Berhorst, who allowed seven hits in three innings.
Fatima (0-1) plays Monday at Rock Bridge.
