Jays finish sixth to lead local teams in C.C. Invitational

NEW BLOOMFIELD - The Jefferson City Jays finished fourth to lead local teams Monday in the Capital City Invitational.

The Jays finished with a total of 321 in the 22-team tournament played at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club.

Gabe Trowbridge totaled a 76 to tie for sixth overall and lead Jefferson City, while Andrew Hansen finished with a 78. Jimmy Spath carded an 83, with Nathan Erickson close behind with an 84.

Blair Oaks totaled a 327 to finish in a tie for sixth with Holt and Timberland in the final team standings.

Kory Franks of the Falcons was the medalist in the Invitational, finishing with a 70. Tanner Elder added a 76 to tie for sixth for Blair Oaks, while Kyle Backes had an 89 and Jake VanRonzelen totaled a 92.

Walker Kesterson shot a 74 to tie for fourth and lead Southern Boone to a tie for 10th place as a team with a 336. Braydan Watts had an 85 for the Eagles, while Alex Zagorac added an 86 and Jakob Warren and Tanner Sherman both had 91s.

Helias, led by an 84 by Dalton Roark, finished 14th with a 347. Cole Higgins was next for the Crusaders with an 85, while Curtis Campbell had an 88 and Nick Alexander had a 90.

Fatima finished 21st with a 380. Kyle Hudspeth carded an 89 to pace the Comets. Carson Kramer had a 96, while Austin Eisterhold totaled a 97 and Casey Breese had a 98.

Rock Bridge, with three players finishing among the top 10 individuals, took team honors with 299. Rockhurst was second with a 314, while Warrensburg was third with a 319.
